Timeframe
Ideally, I like to have two weeks to craft copy for small to mid-sized projects (a trifold brochure, for example) and four weeks for large projects (a white paper, let’s say). That gives me time to research, understand your unique selling proposition, write, rewrite, sleep on it (yes, even superheroes have to sleep), perfect it, and proof it until I am happy with every word.
However, I also realize that you may be coming to me because you simply don’t have time to do it yourself. And most of us tend to realize that at the 11th hour. So if you have a rush job, just let me know your deadline. If I feel I can do a quality job on your project while meeting your deadline, then I will. If I can’t, I will tell you so.
No matter what the deadline is, the copy I submit will be on time and on target, so you don’t have to worry about rewriting it yourself.
